How do I transfer to Oxford University?
Q. I'm currently going to Northwest Mississippi Community College (I know it sucks). I was planning on going to University of Texas after a year at NWCC. My bro did the senior high schooler program and said Oxford was fantastic and I lived in europe when i was 6. The Oxford website is confusing and doesn't address tranfer. Will Oxford take me now? Are there any international scholarships to cover tuition? PS: I'm pre-med. No hateful comments please.

A. Not sure it's helpful to be so pedantic. Obviously an informal internet question will not reflect the OP's grasp of formal grammer. I'm sure in your everyday life you all use grammer that you would never dream of using on a formal document/ assignment/ application form. Anyway in answer to your question for the majority of subjects you will need 3+ A grades at A Level (or equlivant) an excellent personal statement showing lots of extra curricular activities including ones relating to your course if poss (eg. Volunteering in a hospital for Medicine). You have to choose a college to apply too and you should look at the stats showing how many students they accept for your course, how many applications they recieve and the % that are given… [cont.]

How do I get into Oxford University? Do you need to be in an IB program?
Q. How can one get into Oxford University's undergraduate program. Do I need to be in an IB Program and how do I get into such a program in the United States? Thank you. Is this information available on their site?
Asked by professionalkiwi - Mon Jul 20 19:51:39 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. To qualify to apply to Oxford, a US student needs either: - To do an IB diploma, instead of a regular high school diploma, or - Do a regular HS diploma plus at least 3 AP exams, scored 5, 5, 4, or higher, or - Do a regular HS diploma plus at least 3 SAT subject tests, scoring very, very well (700+), or - Do a regular HS diploma plus 1 year of US college courses Any of those will work, so if you don't have IB at your school, do one of these other options.

What are EXACTLY the requirements needed to get into Oxford University Undergraduate School, from the U.S?
Q. I am a US citizen, and i have been very interested in Oxford University. My Career goal is to be an Investment banker, and i would like to study overseas in UK for my MBA.
Asked by anruag - Mon Apr 20 15:44:16 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Those are the qualifications needed to make a competative application. In addition to that you need to be passionate about your subject, and preferably have a few non-academic interests. You'd also need to be able to fund doing it (talking, very roughly $100,000 for a 3 year undergrad degree). Exactly what it costs depends on what subject you study, at which college, and living costs. You'll also need to get a student visa. Applications for courses starting autumn 2010 will be due in October 2009. good luck

It allows you to search for programs by location (US, Europe, Far East, etc.), by concentration (finance, marketing, aviation management, health management, accounting, etc.), by type of program (full-time, distance learning, part-time, etc), and by listing your own criteria and preferences to get a list of universities that satisfy your needs. Schools report their tuition cost, number of students, class sizes, program length, and a lot of other data. What are the entrance requirements for Oxford University for American students?
Q. I live in the USA but I also have citizenship with the Uk also. As I am about to enter high school in 2 weeks and am interested in attending Oxford University after I complete highschool I need to know the enterence requirements. What do they look for? How can I impress them? What highschool corses would be beneficiary to my acceptence? It may be too early to tell, but currently I am interested in reading (taking) "Economics and Management" I have dual citizenship with the USA and the UK

A. Normally admissions for US students is based on SAT scores and performance on AP subjects. You'll need to score very high on the SATs and probably take around 5 AP courses. Oxford is usually also interested in extra-cirricular activities as well. From the little I know about the US system these activities are easier to acquire than in the UK. I have known some UK citizens who have been living in the US and have gained their highschool certificate and moved back to the UK and gone back to school here and done their A levels before applying to university. The UK education system is very different to the US one, and there is a big jump between the levels of high school and university

A. If he was passing up Oxford to study Business at UPenn, I wouldn't be surprised. Oxford may be the No.1 university in the world, but Wharton is the No.1 B-school in the world. Individual program departments are sometimes more reputed than the university itself. Sometimes MIT can be a better choice than Harvard if you wanted to major in Engineering.

A. If you are a British citizen and have lived in the UK for the past 3 years, the tuition fee for Oxford currently stands at 3225 per year: This amount does go up each academic year (although not by a vast amount) and so you'll need to keep in mind that by the time you finish your A levels it may be a bit more expensive. You may also see a reference to something called the college fee which is also charged by Oxford. However, as long as you are from the UK your Local Education Authority will pay this and so there's no need to worry about this fee. Whether or not you will need any form of assistance depends upon your own personal circumstances, but the page below shows you what options you have:

Q. Does anyone want to be my sponsor? I just got accepted by Oxford University, one of the world's leading universities, its a chance of a lifetime, but unfortunatelly I lack money... For someone few thousand euros wouldn't be that much but for me its all my dreams come true now.. I have the biggest wish and strogest will do to it and in return I offer my eternal gratitude! (and a pay back some day if I get rich, of course:)
